Aircraft Registration
Aircraft registration is now available for non-commercial aircrafts in the Isle of Man due to the introduction of the first dedicated corporate register service in a European time zone. The Isle of Man International Register offers unique financial and operational benefits, including the following:
- FLEXIBILITY: The Isle of Man International Register is an independent British Register and will not be regarded as a Flag of Convenience.
- SECURITY: The nationality and identity of the operator and owners of the aircraft can remain private. The Isle of Man is not, and has never been, a member of the UK or the European Union, so the “M” registrations may be viewed as politically neutral. This advantage may be a consideration for those operators and owners who are concerned about security and safety issues.
- TAXATION: All aviation transactions qualify for a 0% rate on corporation tax. Further, there is no Isle of Man insurance premium tax (usually 5% in the UK) which means that the costs of operating an aircraft from the Isle of Man can be significantly low.
- VAT ZERO RATING: Businesses in the Isle of Man may register for VAT while benefiting from the 0% tax rate on profits. VAT liability on the purchase of your aircraft can be significantly reduced with proper tax planning advice.
- MORTGAGE: An aircraft mortgage register based on identical UK legislation exists in the Isle of Man.
- REGISTRATION FEES: The policy of the Isle of Man Government is to maintain the lowest possible fees in order to ensure the success of international aircraft registration system.
